A new CD of my music for brass band has been released by Fodens Band, the current British Open and National Champions. Conducted by Mike Fowles, the band have produced a CD of outstanding playing quality – it’s a dream come true for a composer to receive such performances.
The CD is titled “The Legend of King Arthur” and features music that covers 7 years, including my most recent piece at the time of recording, Starlight (written for Fodens Band and my good friend – and Fodens Band Vice President – Jens Lindemann who recorded it for this release). Each piece on the CD has a link to a friend, or friends, that I met through the piece or who commissioned the piece, so in that respect it has an extra personal level to the recording too.
I’d like to place on record my thanks to all concerned with the project – World of Brass, Nicki Tonge, Adam Goldsmith (who has done a brilliant job of producing the CD – a top quality musician and a top quality producer), Mike Fowles, Jens Lindemann and Fodens band.
